Rattan Battle for Cádiz
In the Cádiz Expedition (1596) , Essex led a daring strike against Cadiz, capturing the city and burning the Spanish fleet. Glory was won.. but so was rivalry, pride, and the Queen’s wary eye. Fighters will be split into two teams – English and Spanish.
Teams should pick a commander for their team.
Scenario 1: Boarding Action (bridge battle with a twist)
Each team will split their forces across 3 ships in anyway they would like. One of those ships should be your team’s flag ship (don’t let your commander be taken).
- This will be a timed resurrection battle (2 or 3 total lives depending on the numbers).
- Should a ship be cleared of enemy combatants it can be set ablaze. Ships that are burning may not be retaken by their crew, their crew is out of the fight.
Scenario 2: Storm the Beach (open field)
The English forces array themselves with their back to the sea. They must push the Spanish back into the town.
- This will be a timed resurrection battle (2 or 3 total lives depending on the numbers).
Scenario 3: Close Quarters Battle (town battle)
In a desperate attempt to slow the English forces down, the Spanish make a valiant stand in the town.
- This will be a timed resurrection battle .
- 2 lives for the Spanish forces since they control the town
- 3 lives for the English forces since they will be attacking fortified positions
